about Sydney

Sydney Jones is a movement artist and choreographer in Georgia. She earned a B.A. in Dance, a B.S. in Psychology, and a Women’s Leadership Certificate from Brenau University. Her performance credits include choreography set by Julio Medina, Francine Ott, Kevin Jenkins, Quaba Ernest, and Xavier Lewis. Her additional training includes attending the Debbie Allen Dance Academy, Alonzo King LINES Ballet, and the Camille A. Brown Arts Program. She has had the honor of receiving consecutive scholarships to attend the Alabama Dance Festival, as well as receiving a scholarship to attend the 2024 IABD Conference. Her film credits include co-directed; The World Needs You earned “The Best Jury Award” at the Campus Movie Fest. Her recent press credits include a featured article VoyageATL magazine (July edition). Sydney’s choreography explores intersections of identity, justice, and healing by blending contemporary, hip-hop, West African, and modern movement styles. Her work is driven by a commitment to address global issues and foster creative collaboration with diverse artists worldwide.
